Level 1 and Level 2 Technical Official Course
Becoming a Technical Official is a great way to give back to and grow the sport of triathlon. It will also give you a more in depth understanding of the rules of our sport helping you to become a better competitor at the same time.
Other benefits of becoming a Technical Official · Technical officials ensure the safety and fairness of triathlon and multisport competition. Officials are integral to the successful running of races. · Free education and training · Free non-competitive membership or $40.00 off competitive membership (if officiated at 3 events in the season prior) · Fee for service payment - $30.00 per day, $0.30/km travel (max $100), $50.00 accommodation contributed (if approved prior).

How to become an accredited Technical Official · Attend the next available course (approximately 3 hours) · Complete an open book exam at the end of the course covering the race competition rules · Complete one practical session, officiating at a sanctioned event. · Complete ASC on-line officiating principles course (https://learning.ausport.gov.au) · Sign Officials code of Behaviour & Agreement

For any current Level 1 Technical Officials who have been active for more than 12 months and officiated at at least 3 events a year and wish to progress to Level 2 please fill out the Level 2 application form and return it to operations@triathlon qld.com.au or post it to the office. Being a Level 2 will enable you to take on greater roles at events such as Race Referee.
